    xbacklight -set 20 yields
    'No outputs have backlight property'

Adding the device section in the xorg config files prevents kde-start, boot ends in a terminal.

    Any clue appreciated
    Thanks

I checked some logs and found that the "intel" module was not installed. So I installed xf86-video-intel, created the following file, rebooted and now it works:

    Code:
    # cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
    Section "Device"
            Identifier "card0"
            Driver "intel"
            Option "Backlight" "intel_backlight"
            BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
    EndSection
