twacom tablet option

Wondering why there is still no tablet gui option in settings. openSUSE Leap 42.3
Cintiq Wacom ?

I could have simply replied “Thank you for letting us know” :D, since you don’t tell us which settings? KDE? GNOME? Xfce?
IIRC Gimp and Inkscape have their own routines for configuring input devices like the wacoms.

Default install : KDE I have no idea if gnome has a gui for tablets like wacom.

kcm_tablet-3.0.0.b1-6.11 can be found in this home repo:

http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/mrbadguy:/wacom/openSUSE_Leap_42.3/

Although still a beta release it appears to basically function as needed.

Not working.

Not working with plasma 5 and kde 5.7.8.

What do you mean with “not working”?

It is built and requires the latest Qt5 (5.10) and KDE Frameworks.
But you can try this one, which is the same just built against standard 42.3:
https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/wolfi323:/branches:/home:/mrbadguy:/wacom/openSUSE_Leap_42.3/
I intend to update the package in KDE:Extra soon…

And as I wrote in your other thread, there is no “kde 5.7.8”.

Sorry I meant KDE versio 5.8.7 showing by Kinfo.
I couldn’t see the graphic wacom add on under settings -system.
Installed KCM_tablet 2.1.0 package.

I have now installed this one KCM_tablet 2.9.82
https://software.opensuse.org/package/kcm_tablet

Testing

That’s the KDE4 version and won’t show up in systemsettings5.

You could install/run kdebase4-workspace-addons that contains KDE4’s systemsettings, or “run” the settings via kcmshell4, but I’m not sure the application itself will work in a Plasma5 session.

I have now installed this one KCM_tablet 2.9.82
openSUSE Software

Testing

2.9.82 (3.0.0 beta 2) is the latest “Plasma5 version”, yes.

Sorry that version didn’t work it actually ruined my system black screen with mouse cursor. I think its better to go back to plasma 4 for me. Thanks

And which one exactly (from which repo) did you install now?
If you mix Qt5 versions, it will of course break your system.

I never tried it myself though as I don’t have any tablet.

I think its better to go back to plasma 4 for me. Thanks

There is no (usable) Plasma 4 included in Leap.

Please post:

zypper lr -d

And because of an Upgrade from 42.2 to 42.3 , try it with a new User as mentioned in your other Post.

Kcm_tablet 2.9.8 black screen
2.1.0 not working with kde plasma 5
Have to wait.

Yes, but which one?

The one from home:mrbadguy is built for Qt 5.10 as I wrote (you need to switch all Qt/KDE packages to additional repos), mine should work fine without extra repos.

And it would probably help to see the output of running plasmashell in a Konsole to see why it is crashing.

See the link above.
I decided to wait.
Do not understand why opensuse kde plasma ignores graphic tablets.
I am not the only one who is complaining I can switch to Windows 10.

The link above is a link to the package search, and lists 4! different packages for 42.3.
2 (now 3) of them are version 2.8.92, and I wanted to know which of those you installed exactly.

I decided to wait.

Ok, fine with me.

I’ll better not answer to this… :\

But it’s also fine with me if you switch to Windows 10.
I don’t care, actually.

There is one mrbadguy kcm-tablet

Yes, and as I already told you that one requires Qt 5.10, you’d need to add KDE:Qt5 and KDE:Frameworks5 and fully switch to them as well. You likely didn’t, and that’s why it broke your system.

There are 2 others by me though, which should work fine without any additional repos.

But I already wrote all of that, I even posted a direct link to my package.

Btw, I just installed it (my package) here, and it did not break Plasma.
And it shows up fine in Plasma5’s systemsettings5.

I cannot test the actual functionality though, as I don’t have a tablet.

I submitted it to KDE:Extra now too:
https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/560788

(maybe we could even add it to the distribution, to be part of Leap 15…)

Sorry first time there was just one 2.9.82 version. Must have missed you’re version.
And now there are even two 2.9.82 wolfi323.
Thanks
