Chrome cast won't share audio

I have a chromecast about a year old. I'm just getting around to using it.
When I try to share my desktop I get this message:

Casting system audio is not supported on this device.

I can share the video.

I can share audio and video from a Windows 7 laptop, but the video is choppy.

Does anyone have any idea how to get this to work?

AFAIK this only works from Chrome / Chromium. Can you elaborate on how and what exactly you've trying?

I am using chromium 63.0.3239.108. I can cast/share my desktop through my chromecast to my TV, but without audio. When I try to cast i get the message Casting system audio is not supported on this device.
