Firefox freezes display

Since the update to Firefox 57 it randomly freezes the display, when I scroll down a long page or watch some video.

The display is stuck and displays what it was displaying before, but nothing happens, and I have to reboot the system to fix it. The console ttys still work. In a video the sound still works, and i can stop/continue that.

if you are using plasma 5 you can try switching to uxa acceleration
https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-distro-packagers/2015-August/000088.html
or simply disable hardware acceleration in Firefox
the hamburger bar -> Options under Performance uncheck use reccomended performance settings then uncheck use hardware acceleration restart Firefox

thx, it seems that option has fixed it.
