Jack & No-Jack but both-crash-the-same versions of ZynAddSubFX

I notice that two versions of this great synth package now appear in the menu (if installed). Before one would connect the only version to jack in qJackctl. I don’t know what the difference is between these two new ones because as soon as I try to load a previously saved settings.xmz file into either one it crashes. It makes no difference if the file had been saved by this version or by another one.

One uses alsa as the output (no need to run Jack). The other needs Jack.

I also get the crash trying to load xmz files.

On top of that, I deleted it, reinstalled (thinking that there might be a
missing or corrupted file or similar) and it does not run anymore, giving
this error message:
zynaddsubfx: symbol lookup error: zynaddsubfx: undefined symbol:
jack_set_property

Any ideas?
:frowning:

try parking/renaming ~/.zynaddsubfxXML.cfg and run again?

I tried, same story:
zynaddsubfx: symbol lookup error: zynaddsubfx: undefined symbol:
jack_set_property

Thank you.
