Firefox is consuming 100% of my 4 CPUs

Hi,

I just open the new Firefox quantum and my CPU consumes 100%. Why? This is without tabs open, just the app.

42.3 with gnome.

Thanks.

Searching better for the reasons, the problem was the tracker AGAIN.

I had uninstalled it but for some reason was installed in the system again. This bug with tracker is annoying.

what is the tracker is it some sort of addon or a 3rd party app?
as LEAP is on ESR by default did you get Firefox 57 from the mozilla repo or did you get a binary blob from Directory Listing: /pub/

No, tracker is the local indexing system - long known to be a CPU hog
while it catalogs local files.
