Thread: Blinking/flipping screen after kernel update (4.13.12-1), Nvidia driver?

Default Blinking/flipping screen after kernel update (4.13.12-1), Nvidia driver?

After kernel update to 4.13.12-1 I have problem in blinking screen.
Now I'm working on older kernel (4.13.11-1) and I lock kernel updates. I use Nvidia the newest driver for my GTX 980.from nvidia.com repo.

When i remove /etc/X11/xorg.conf openSUSE boots without any problems using new kernel (in "VGA" mode of course). I try to reinstall driver, restart OS, create new config file - it changes nothing, screen is blinking.

I don't know what's the problem. It's not first time when Sometimes I have similar blinking on 42.3 and 42.2 in the past.

Xorg.0.log - new kernel (with error):

    Xorg.0.log - old kernel (w/o errors)

(sorry for video quality made by my 2nd phone)

0:00 - first boot on new kernel (you see VirtualBox problem, but now doesn't matter)
0:12 - you see (or not) flipping/blinking, X server didn't start, I cannot login using terminal, switch ALT+F1 etc., only restart works (CTRL+ALT+DEL)
0:38 - 2nd boot on older kernel and works good

Hi, apparently you need to install libelf-devel.
Follow this mailing list thread for more details https://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-.../msg00335.html
    Hope This Helps.

Thx for link - that thread says more about my problem.

libelf-devel should help someone who install binary drivers. I install only repo drivers.
