Default Chromium - wrong cursor position on BACKSPACE when using text attributes (e.g. bold)

Chromium 62.0.3202.75, but it has been this way for as long as I remember. When typing in I select bold and enter text, end bold and continue typing. If I now press backspace, cursor jumps to the end of bold text and deletes last character. This does not happen in Firefox. Anyone has seen it as well?

Yes on Chrome and Vivaldi on Windows+Mac+Linux when posting here.

It's a problem with the editor and old vB version. They should really consider upping to VB5 or switching to alternative solutions like IPB or even one of the hosted solutions, they all have better editors and more fluid experience (more ajax, less refreshes for example).
