Thread: Thunderbird and font filtering

  1. #1

    Default Thunderbird and font filtering

To improve font rendering in Leap 42.3 I've installed freetype from :
    https://software.opensuse.org/downlo...kage=freetype2

and it really improved the overall system look.
But Thunderbird proved to be a troublesome beast - with lcdfilter enabled font rendering in it is really messed up (I get some dots near letter and other nastiness). Any ideas how could I "fix" it?

Default Re: Thunderbird and font filtering

switched to different fontconfig / freetype and the issue seems to be gone:

    https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/home:gldickens3

    - but it seems the overall look is slightly worse than the namtrac repo ones provided (apart from Thunderbird). But I might just be getting paranoid. If anyone knows a good infinality bundle repo for OpenSUSE please let me know.
