Default Problem getting QT application to use system icons

I have a new install of the latest TW KDE Plasma fully up to date. I have a problem with an application which uses QT where it does not correctly use the system default icons. I have Oxygen set as default but the application still uses the breeze icon set. So far this is the only application (digikam) I have had this issue with. Not sure if this is QT or a system issue but I have tried several different versions of digikam, currently using 5.7. This used to work on the previous install of TW (which had to be re-installed for issues not associated with this problem).

Anyone any ideas what I might have done/not done?

I've just tried with digikam Version 5.7.0 (Build date: Sep 12 2017), Oxygen icons are OK.

Might be worth a check of (digikam) "Settings - Configure digikam - Miscellaneous - Icon Theme" to see if it's explicitly set to use Breeze, although I thought the default was to use the system theme.

I tried that and at one time I managed to have Oxygen icons for the albums in digikam but the sub-directories in each album were breeze. Having tried all sorts of combinations I now have a situation where digikam says use system default which is Oxygen but it only uses breeze now for everything! Really strange....

Edit: Just had a thought and manually edited the digikamrc file and set the icons to oxygen and it worked. Sounds like there could be an issue with digikam. Anyway I now have the correct icons everywhere!

One other thing that might have been worth a try, although you may well have done it already, is to delete the icon cache "~/.cache/icon-cache.kcache" and logout/in.

    However, as it's now working...

I had similar problems which were caused by qt5ct. Removing this cured
    them.

This does seem to have fixed it and I only noticed late today a couple of wrong icons in Dolphin which is also fixed now.
