Default USB TP-Link WiFi Adapter no longer functions.

After doing an online update I lost the functionality of my TP-Link USB adapter. Can anyone help me get it back? The system now does not recognize any network whatsoever. I am now using my windows system to post this. My Opensuse is dead as far as the internet goes. Everything was working perfectly until I did the update. Thanks in advance to any help anyone can give me.

Try to connect with a Cable and post:
    Code:
    lsusb
    We need the USB ID.

    Also post:
    Code:
    rfkill list all
    install rfkill if not.

    PS:
After an Kernel-Update you have to build the Modules new:
    https://forums.opensuse.org/showthre...r-Installation

    Edit:
Driver is from an rpm, so post:
    Code:
    zypper se -si rtl8812 kernel

My only online option is with my wireless adapter. I do not have an ether-net connection available.

lsusb shows the devise as bus 002 device 002: ID2357:010d

What is strange to me is that when I scan for networks nothing is detected! I am using my iphone as a hotspot but nothing shows up, not even the neighbors networks as is usually the case

I know the USB, see the Link to your threat with Installation.

Without any output, nothing can be said.

    Take a picture of:
    Code:
    zypper se -si kernel rtl8812
    and
    Code:
    zypper lr -d
    Post it to https://paste.opensuse.org/
In the right upper Corner klick on Image.

Default Req: USB TP-Link WiFi Adapter no longer functions.

You should also be able to boot the previous kernel by selecting it in "Advanced Options" in the boot menu.
Then your WiFi will hopefully work as well again and you can provide the requested information.

If 'rfkill' is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, like this:
        cnf rfkill
    linux-fxo6:~ # cnf rfkill

The program 'rfkill' can be found in the following package:
      * rfkill [ path: /usr/sbin/rfkill, repository: zypp (download.opensuse.org-oss) ]

    Try installing with:
        zypper install rfkill

    linux-fxo6:~ # zypper install rfkill

    I appreciate your help.
Where do I go from here to make things right?
Should I go ahead and upgrade to 42.3 at this point?
What can I do to prevent this from happening again?

Default AW: USB TP-Link WiFi Adapter no longer functions.

can you boot with an older kernel?
Goto the second entry in Grub and choose a normal one (not Rescue) with Kernel 4.4.74

Or you have to revert your Snapshot. because it is only a read File System (read only).

    Code:
    snapper rollback #number
as root where #number is the Number of your actual booted snapshot.

    Code:
    reboot

Everything is working and I seem to have the 4.4.79 kernel update

So will I have to go through this again at the next kernel update?

    Thank you much!
