Hello, i’m using OpenSUSE Leap 42.3 with Plasma. The other day i noticed that when copying files to or from a usb drive the computer fans rev up and everything becomes incredibly slow and unusable until the copying of the files has finished. Are others experiencing this issue, or is there a solution to this bug?

What device are you using – USB flash drive, SSD or HDD? USB-3 or USB-2device, cable and port?
What file systems are involved in the file transfer?
Is this a GUI copy or move – are you using dolphin?
What happens if you use “cp” from a terminal (e.g. “konsole”)?
