A quickie!

When wanting an application for 42.3, and finding that only 42.2 or Tumbleweed is available, which is safe to use? Or neither? Also have seen SLED SLES packages offered eg by AMD/ATi Are these OK ?

Just as an example, Malcolm kindly packaged an app for someone…:

ps I do not need this app, it is just an eg…

Hi
You should (if on OBS) ask the repository maintainer to add the 42.3 build target… at a pinch 42.2 should work fine.

So the amdgpu-pro driver? Yes the SLE one is it, however you need to install dkms, so;

zypper in http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/Bumblebee/openSUSE_Leap_42.3/noarch/dkms-2.3-8.1.noarch.rpm

Then (as root user) cd to where you extracted the amdgpu-pro tarball and then run the installer, it will add it’s repo etc. However there seems to be an issue with the driver, looks like it needs to be patched for the 4.4.79 kernel.
