Thread: Regarding GNOME updater applet

    Default Regarding GNOME updater applet

Following deano_ferrari's advise about individual threads.

I see GNOME has kind of its own update "application", it even pops notifications if new updates are available. But how can I change it settings? From what I've seen it's still not set to automatically install updates when available, which is good for me. But how can I disable its notifications for example? I don't even know if uninstalling it would "break" GNOME environment somehow...

    Thanks again.

    Hi
System Setting -> Notifications (Go figure ) here scroll down the list and double click on the item to customize....

    Thanks sir.

Applet doesn't come pre-configured to automatically install updates, right?
So I disabled its notifications. Does it also prevent it to be working in "background" or the like?

    Hi
AFAIK it's only the notification, packagekit keeps working in the
background and no unless you configure it to it will just cache them
    until you update.
