Well, when I try to install vlc-codes, the screen is displayed:
    Code:
    zypper in vlc-codecs
    Loading repository data...
    Reading installed packages...
    Resolving package dependencies...

The following 15 NEW packages are going to be installed:
      libcddb2 libdvbpsi10 libebml4 libiso9660-10 libmatroska6 libopencv3_1
      libswscale3 libupnp6 libvcdinfo0 libvlc5 libvlccore8 libxcb-composite0
      vlc-codec-gstreamer vlc-codecs vlc-noX

    15 new packages to install.
Overall download size: 8.5 MiB. Already cached: 0 B. After the operation,
additional 28.5 MiB will be used.
How do I install vlc-codecs without having to install vlc-codec-gstreamer at the same time?(In command line, not yast)

    I think it is "dirty"

After further testing,I correct my previous statement.

If I install the "vlc" of pacman repo(not "vlc-codec"),"vlc-codec-gstreamer" will also be installed.

    How Pacman packers like gstreamer?

If you nedd "pure vlc",there are two ways:

1.If you use yast, you can unselect vlc-codec-gstreamer before accept changs.

2.If you use command line, you can remove vlc-codec-gstreamer later.

As for the difference between "pure vlc" and "gstreamer base vlc", I'm still studying ...

Anyway, VLC 3.0 Vetinari is released.

But the vlc repo can't be connected

the vlc repo for LEAP 42.3 (build by the vlc devs) is up and running
    http://download.videolan.org/SuSE/Leap_42.3/
but no vlc 3.0 package there
you can get vlc 4.0 beta from packman as it would seam the 3.0 branch went gold but hasn't been published yet as both packman and vlc carry vlc 2.2.6

well the vlc devs have published a vlc 3.0.2 for LEAP 42.3 but packman hasn't build it for LEAP 42.3 I'm guessing it's a dependency issue as 3.0 is up and running for both TW and LEAP 15
LEAP 42.3 users can get vlc 3.0 from the vlc repo but seeing how LEAP 15 is around the corner (release date end of may) I don't think messing with an extra repo is worth it you're better off installing the 15 RC or waiting a few weeks and upgrading your whole OS
