Thread: Kmail jumps to random mail at startup.

    Default Kmail jumps to random mail at startup.

    Dear All,

    I ask it here, because cannot find any informations on the net.
    It is not a problem, rather a cosmetic issue, but for me it is annoying:

    When kmail starts it jumps to a random olderr email in the message list.
    I must navigate to the top of the list manually. Imap gmail account is used.
    Do you have any idea, how to prevent this behaviour of kmail?

    Thank you in advance.

    Actually it should "jump" to the previously selected message by default (if it still exists).

    Settings->Configure KMail->Miscellaneous->Folders->When entering a folder.

    When entering a folder
    This option controls what happens if you open a folder.
    • If Jump to First Unread Message is selected then KMail will select the first message it finds that is marked as unread.
    • If Jump to Last Selected Message is selected then KMail will select the message that was selected when the folder was open the last time.
    • If Jump to Newest Message is selected then KMail will select the newest message by date.
    • If Jump to Oldest Message is selected then KMail will select the oldest message by date.

    My bad... Thank you so. I did not check if it had a a setting like that.
    Thanks again, now it is working as expected.
