    Hi,

Default Re: After Steam update, the games is not launching

Games not launching at me either, apparently for a completly different reason:

    Code:
    >>> Adding process 4094 for game ID 570
    /home/kry/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/dota 2 beta/game/dota.sh: line 104: 4082 Segmentation fault (core dumped) ${STEAM_RUNTIME_PREFIX} ${GAME_DEBUGGER} "${GAMEROOT}"/${GAMEEXE} "$@"
Game removed: AppID 570 "Dota 2", ProcID 4082
    Code:
    >>> Adding process 4131 for game ID 236850
    addr2line: '/home/kry/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Europa': No such file
    >>> Adding process 4132 for game ID 236850
    >>> Adding process 4133 for game ID 236850
    >>> Adding process 4134 for game ID 236850
Game removed: AppID 236850 "Europa Universalis IV", ProcID 4108
However, GRID runs mighty fine. It misses the libssl, but otherwise works perfectly.

    Code:
    addr2line: '/home/kry/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Hearts': No such file
    >>> Adding process 17927 for game ID 394360
    >>> Adding process 17928 for game ID 394360
    >>> Adding process 17929 for game ID 394360
Game removed: AppID 394360 "Hearts of Iron IV", ProcID 17900
For EU4 and HOI4 it seems like games with whitespace do not work anymore. Not sure about Dota2, or why I'm even running the beta... //Sorry, I have Vulkan support enabled.

    Code:
    >>> Adding process 17961 for game ID 291650
ERROR: ld.so: object '/home/kry/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/gameoverlayrenderer.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32): ignored.

    >>> Adding process 17980 for game ID 291650
Game removed: AppID 291650 "Pillars of Eternity", ProcID 17960
Pillars of Eternity also decided that it does not want to work anymore.

    Code:
    >>> Adding process 18000 for game ID 281990
libgcrypt selftest: binary (0): No such file or directory
Ohhhh jeeee: ... this is a bug (global.c:137:global_init)

linux-gate.so.1 seems to be missing, will check it later.

Tropico 5 runs normally, no error messages

It has problem with X, but seems to be fine otherwise. I have no other games installed at the moment, will check Verdun later.

I added the problem I the Valve's github and you can open the steam using
    Code:
    STEAM_RUNTIME_PREFER_HOST_LIBRARIES=0 steam
They suspect that libgcrypt.so.20 is getting dynamically loaded somehow over libgcrypt.so.11 when preferring system libraries. These are ABI incompatible and it may be worthwhile to also bring this issue to the attention of OpenSUSE's package maintainer for steam.

Still does not work. Aside from that, Steam Controller is not working while running games anymore....

    Same env here.

Tried to run "Cosmic Express" from steam and go this in the logs:
    Code:
libgcrypt selftest: binary (0): No such file or directory
Ohhhh jeeee: ... this is a bug (global.c:137:global_init)
However when running the game directly from CLI it works but has no Steam overlay.

Then I tried this as suggested above: (make sure to close steam first)

    Code:

    STEAM_RUNTIME_PREFER_HOST_LIBRARIES=0 steam
Now the game properly starts from inside Steam!

    Thanks

I am having the same issue after the June 1st update. The steam runtime command mentioned above worked maginficently. Lets hope that Valve can fix this before the Steam Summer Sale.

I dont think it might be a libcrypt issue for of my games library only ONE game would launch. That was Victor Vran.

Also on one of my setups the only thing that change was the steam client updating from 10 hours previosuly, in which i was playing a game on that machine via steam. the libcrypto should be resolved with steamtricks and the steam openssl.

Most of the time i just got messages similar to http://paste.opensuse.org/79994724ht...e.org/39188822 these. Mainly ones like the Windward one, but nothing about libcrypto.

    Thanks for the workaround.

I have same trouble: my games are launches in Steam but after a second, crashes. I tried to add some extra libraries like in this post but without linking.
I can launch, for example, Faeria without steam successfully but it's interface's controls are unresponsible.

is it about to launch Steam like that?
    Code:
    /usr/bin/steam %U STEAM_RUNTIME_PREFER_HOST_LIBRARIES=0
I tried it but it didn't helps.

If I try to launch the DoTA2 separately (I think it should not be possible without steam client) it sayed me - "unable to load libpangoft2-1.0.so"
