SMPlayer 17.5.0.8554 Won’t Start: Live Streaming

Mplayer/mpv has finished unexpectedly. Exit code:2

It works in all O/S, but not in Tumbleweed. VLC starts with the same link. The log is showing the error, link is good until 11PM on the east coast. VLC is out-of-date, we’re at Umbrella now or 2.2.6.1. Double check in Win Ten and it is working properly.

10 minutes to edit the post is not enough. Same error with You Tube.

that error suggests you haven’t done a full vendor change to packman
tell us you repo’s

zypper lr -d

on the other hand you seam to be missing libnvcuvid.so.1
that should be shipped with the propitiatory nvidia driver
have you installed it the hard way, on TW after every kernel update you need to reinstall the nvidia driver

I have this error in the terminal or in Software installer: In red

abc@linux-875e:~> zypper lr -d

that error can be ignored it means the disk you used for install is not plugged in as you’re on TW you should remove that repo TW changes a lot and iso’s are old within a week
the VLC repo should not really be used as it does not have all multimedia and can cause conflicts, all multimedia including vlc should come from packman
you also seam to have smplayer from OBS, there are no restricted codecs on OBS so remove repo #2 home:smplayerdev and get smplayer from packman (this will be done in step 4 below)

sudo zypper rr 1 2 5
sudo zypper ar -f http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/packman/suse/openSUSE_Tumbleweed/ packman
sudo zypper ref
sudo zypper dup --from packman

edit
you didn’t say if you had nvidia’s propitiatory run driver installed, you also have an extra kernel repo as the nvidia driver needs kernel headers to compile make sure they are from the same repo (I’m not sure why you added the extra kernel repo unless you have hardware issues you should keep the kernel from the OSS repo #9)

Firstly, it is AMD all the way here. For testing purposes and for the better of Linux, I run custom Kernel.

...
29 packages to upgrade, 17 to downgrade, 5 new, 1 to remove, 46 to change vendor.

Overall download size: 27,5 MiB. Already cached: 0 B. After the operation, additional 10,7 MiB will be used.

There are some running programs that might use files deleted by recent upgrade. You may wish to check and restart some of them. Run 'zypper ps -s' to list these programs.

I don’t find Tag nor how to mark the thread Solved??? Fixed by packman I would say.

With grateful thanks!

Allergic to NVIDIA, there is no black screen under AMD environment (#000000), but there are plenty under Intel.
