Question Need help installing Nvidia: the hard way.

Hello, im following this guide: https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_the_hard_way ,to setup proprietary NVidia Drivers.

I installed the dependencies and downloaded the .run file. When i try "sh" on the .run file, it fails. I'm posting the last few lines of the log here. I dont know if i should post the entire log? Please let me know. THanks.

    Hi
You need to find a patch, patch the run file and then re-run the installer...

There is a link to a zip file that may work...
    https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/t...h-kernel-4-10/

Else you need to keep an eye on the nvidia forum since it's a proprietary driver.

Thanks for the link, I downloaded the beta (381.09) from there, and it successfully installed.

I was eager to see if it worked, so I just restarted my machine, without typing in this command:

    # mkinitrd

Will this become an issue later? Everything's working well right now.
