Default I cannot login to gnome

    Hello
It's a week now that i cannot login to gnome (X or Wayland).
When I power on the desktop everything run normally until the login screen,
after entering the password the computer show the gray screen, changes the cursor and a few seconds later returns to the login screen.
If I choose LXDE or ICEWM everything runs with no problem.

I searched on internet and opensuse forums and did not find an answer.
I don't know what to do, i am not an expert,
the system is up to date,

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

just in case: did you use sudo zypper dup or better zypper dup --no-allow-vendor-change to update?, if not do this.
If your on btrfs you can also just roll back

Best access logs for your Error and Warning messages
to find the problem, so others can help you resolve it.

My AMD processor (Intel may differ) uses

    [
Ctrl]+[Alt]+[F3] to access a terminal screen
[Ctrl]+[Alt]+[F4] to access a terminal screen
[Ctrl]+[Alt]+[F7] returns me to normal screen.

    examples:

    Code:
      sudo journalctl --since='2017-03-30 07:00:00' | grep -i login

    Code:
     sudo journalctl --since='2017-03-29 07:00:00' | grep Warning

    Code:
     sudo journalctl --since='2017-03-29 07:00:00' | grep -i Warning

(The "-i" instructs search to ignore whether Upper or Lower case.)

To see the boot.log try command

    Code:
     cat /var/log/boot.log

    .

I'm not a gnome user but 2 things to consider
#1 do you have any extra repo's?
    tell us your repo's
    Code:
    zypper lr -d
#2 did you try making a new user account and logging in gnome with that account?

it might be a graphic card driver issue what video card do you have and what drivers
if nvidia did you reinstall the driver after updating?

Default Re: I cannot login to gnome

you have repo's that might cause issues
you have packman twice plus the packman subsets Essentials and Extra, vlc and packman don't play nice
they're also disabled keeping disabled repo's on a rolling distro is a bad idea
If it was me I'd remove the unnecessary repo's (the mozilla too as Firefox and TB are undated in the main repo) and do a full vendor change to the main OSS and the packman repo
    removing the unneeded repo's
    Code:
    zypper rr 3 7 8 9 10
then enable the remaining packman repo
    Code:
    zypper mr -e 2
and do a full switch to the oss then to packman as I don't know the state of your system
    Code:
    zypper dup --from repo-osst
    zypper dup --from 2
as for ati/amd you do have the repo but it's disabled are you sure you didn't install the propitiatory driver and then forgot about it try searching your system for installed ati packages
    Code:
    zypper se -si fglrx
