I need GCC 4.9.X for MATLAB 2016b. How can install it on Leap 42.2?

You can download the package without adding the repository, just click on the “64-bit” link.
Then, point zypper or YaST at the file to install.

The llnk takes me to the software search and it’s in the development section for 42.2. I’d just use the one click install and probably not retain the repo.

Following the repo link it does show a successful build.

In the following screenshot, go to the URL and click on the links until you see what is shown.
Then, click on the link within the red oval, you will download the RPM.
