    After updating to 42.2 I no longer experience the issue. This confirms it is not a vhost configuration issue as configuration is untouched.

    More info:

    After seeing some new segmentation faults in logs and digging into the problem I found that I have mod_security installed. After disabling it the segmentation faults don't show up. I hope it will stay this way but I still wonder what exactly mod_security may have been doing. Limiting the rate of requests maybe?
