Thread: google drive options

    Default google drive options

    Hello members
At the moment I have installed Leap 42.1 and would like to know if there is a workable and easy enough option for google drive backup/sync in 42.2. I am somewhat desperate to back up through the openSuse laptop.
    Many thanks

    Hi
    A fuse version?

    https://github.com/astrada/google-drive-ocamlfuse/wiki
I see it needs updating though...

So there isn't anything stable/part of the 42.2 main repository yet? Hmmm...

    Hi
Depends on what your definition of stable is First step to get into an openSUSE release is a development project, then the maintainer needs to decide if they wish to submit to Factory, once in Factory then it can make it into the next release... Of course then when it's in the release, acting on bug reports, security fixes (may need backported fixes etc), all this means extra work that the maintainer may not wish to do. I hold off for as long as I can to put stuff into Factory....

    Hi
    I've updated the package and submitted to the development project;

    Thanks for your patience...
I'm not sure what to say, hoping I haven't pushed you to anything you are not too keen on? What is the time line till ocamlfuse might be approved and available in the repo?
Could this https://software.opensuse.org/packag...rive-ocamlfuse be installed on 42.2 leap KDE without creating havoc?

    Hi
I guess the 0.6.8 version should be fine until the update is accepted, I've tested the new version on Tumbleweed and openSUSE Leap 42.2, works fine in GNOME DE, you do need to unmount via command line (fusermount -u <your_mount_point>).

You only need the one rpm, no need to add the repo or anything like that.

You would need to ask the real maintainer https://build.opensuse.org/user/show/frispete if they want to do that....

All I can see is the 0.6.17 version. Downloaded from here: https://software.opensuse.org/packag...rive-ocamlfuse (sources)into my local rpm folder. Added the same folder to the repositories. The rpm does not show up in the YaST2 when searching and wanting to install. Not sure what I am doing wrong
