Thread: Notebook Does Not Return From Hibernation

    Default Notebook Does Not Return From Hibernation

    I am using openSUSE Leap 42.2 with Gnome desktop, the notebook hibernates normally but when trying to return it does not turn on and need to restart it, could they help me ??

    Video card???? driver??

    Is this a hybrid Intel+NVIDIA (optimus) machine??

    My system is: Intel® Core™ i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz × 4, Intel® HD Graphics 5500 (Broadwell GT2)

    Is your swap partition size sufficient? FWIW, I did find this Debian thread describing similar behaviour with the failure to thaw from hibernation. Strangely, some users have found that the hibernation period has an effect on success/failure of this process.

    4.1 GB is my swap.

    So how much memory.? If more then 4 gig it may be a problem. To be certain you should have at least as much swap as memory.

    I have 4 gig of ram.
