Konqueror sidebar?

After latest update (Tumbleweed), the sidebar in konqueror is gone?

That is likely to be down to the port from kde4 to plasma5. Konqueror has now lost its pre-set window size (always switching back to the 1/4 screen size) and insists on showing a panel with your bookmarks (regardless how many times you set this not to show).

For me, konqueror starts at 2/3 screen width and full height, which is how I have been using it since the days of KDE4. And it initially shows bookmarks, but not in a panel. This is probably because I set it to show bookmarks on startup.

I’m not using konqueror as much these days. I’m logged into the forum with firefox.

The option to enable the sidebar has changed, there is now terminal.

The terminal was already there before.
But the navigation side bar has been removed because there were problems porting it to Qt5/KF5 apparently.
The commit that removed it says “disable sidebar subdir, the concept will have to be rethought”…

The window size not being remembered is a known problem:

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373826
This can be workarounded by setting up a kwin rule for konqueror’s window that sets a specific size.

And apparently the shown toolbars are not stored either:

Seems to have been broken when the support for different profiles has been removed…

I provisionally returned to 16.04.2-1.1
hope they fix everything.
