Default konsole don't start, hard drive active

    Hello
Clean install 42.2 (formated partition to NTFS and back to BTRFS when install.)
Can't start konsole (terminal emulator) in KDE/Plasma. Hard drive is used intensive, iotop -o gives no file except /usr/bin/konsole, 30 MB/s on SSD (top speed 540 MB/s). I gave up after 5 minutes, sending ctrl-c.
    Code:
    rpm -qa konsole
    konsole-16.08.2-1.1.x86_64
Tested create a new user with the same result.
Removed konsole in yast2 software manager, and installed again with yast2 software manager.
Started in terminal trying to run konsole from that gave no info, just blinking cursor.
Quick search on forum gave nothing. Any suggestion appreciated.

Do you have a working shell (e.g. bash) configured?
Test with a screen console (Ctrl+Alt+F1) or xconsole login.

Have you tried logging in as anew (test) user?

I would then try (because I'm lazy) reinstalling (using YaST):
    bash, konsole, konsole-part, libKF5*, libQT5*
    (no need to delete first)

    Then zypper dup
~Thank you for sharing an interesting problem.

    Hey, thanks for responding
Tested with new user. same thing, hard drive running 30MB/s and 85-90% IO> (input output on drive) teste using iotop -o.
bash seams to work, I run gnome-terminal (instead of konsole) (inside KDE/Plasma) for the moment. Tested running 'bash', and then typing exit, nothing specially happened, all gnome-terminal, as suspected. So bash working.
If running xconsole from gnome-terminal the result is "Couldn't open console". Looks like X-window from 1998

    Shall update bash, konsole, konsole-part, libKF5*, libQT5*
    EDIT :
    Also, CTRL+ALT+F1 working as wanted.
zypper dup running, getting back with result.

    Couldn't find out what's wrong.
