I’m on current TW. Some weeks ago, maybe around the new freetype version, the lettering of Yast became non-readable.
I have an replacement user account, which I never configure (no wallpaper, nothing). There, all the Plasma surface has this pixelated fonts with a hard to describe green touch.

Probably related to subpixel hinting which became enabled be default in the latest freetype version?
You should be able to turn it/configure it system-wide in YaST->Fonts.
Thank you. You are right, because the phenomenon is gone now, after playing a bit in the font module of Yast.
But I can’t tell what did the trick. I reverted anything after it was gone, but the lettering remains clean. However, done.
