Default Network install - how to setup usb modem internet

    Hi

I have downloaded official iso image for Network Install.
    Burned it to USB stick.

I only have a mobile internet via Huawei modem and sim card.

Now, how can I setup my connection while upgrading from Network Image? There is no NetworkManager in it.
Can I do it via shell? How?

Please, do not suggest to download DVD Image

Which version are you trying to install? (Hopefully something current.)

For Leap 15, there is live media available (under 1GB in size) which would at least enable a means to installing without a network
    https://download.opensuse.org/distri...eap/15.0/live/

Here's a great informational video showing how to boo the live media and then install it
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifZDrV9Ix3E

After the installation is complete you should be able to connect to your mobile broadband network using NM hopefully.

Why did you choose OTHER VERSION from the drop down menu and then did not even explain which other version you try to install?

Because it seemed to me to be irrelevant. I thought it should work in any distribution.
I want to upgrade from 14.2 to 15.0.

I was trying to get Live from the mail page -> https://software.opensuse.org/distributions/leap but the links are broken (error 404).
    What's the difference between Live_Current and Live_Snapshot17.9_Media ?

So it seems it's impossible to set it up in the shell.

    .
It is so relevant that we decided to make it obligatory to choose the correct one.
    I will change it.

I think you mean 42.2, correct? You could opt for an 'in situ' upgrade, where you're best advised backup any important data before you start, and upgrade versions incrementally - Leap 42.2 >> Leap 42.3, then Leap 42.3 >> Leap 15.0

    Refer to the following guide:
    https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:System_upgrade

    Thanks.

Few years ago I did an 'in situ' upgrade and jumped 2 distributions. And it worked.
I will do it from DVD now.
    Still the question hangs:

    What's the difference between Live_Current and Live_Snapshot17.9_Media ?

They're identical (based on the details, same size, same SHA-256 hash etc)

It may work, but it's not guaranteed. (I've also been successful with jumping a couple of versions in the past.)

    Hi.

KDE_Live.iso image doesn't have an upgrade option. Only install.

    So, I did a
    Code:
    zypper dup
    and it worked.
My new Leap 15 is working fine. The only problem was Internet connection. It turned out it was an empty /etc/resolv.conf

    Greetings to all
