    Default Plasma 5.7.95 / 5.8 digital clock

have installed Plasma 5.7.95 (beta for 5.8) and it is really nice. Plasma keeps getting better and better with every release.
One *minor* annoyance is that the digital clock in the tray is suddenly really small.
The clock font can be changed in the clock settings but the font size cannot. This is done in systemsettings5>fonts>general
The problem if I increase the font size there for the clock is that the font size in other parts of plasma is then too large.
Is there a file somewhere that can be edited to only increase the clock font size?
Is what I have described a bug or a "new feature"?

I'm also running 5.8-beta but haven't seen the change that you have.
Perhaps because my task-bar is located on the side of the screen? The
font in that situation is directly related to the task-bar width. I've
just tried moving the bar to the bottom of the screen and found that
widening the bar there also enlarges the font.

I haven't looked at your above link as Firefox rates it as a security
    threat:

paste.opensuse.org uses an invalid security certificate. The
certificate is not trusted because it was signed using a signature
algorithm that was disabled because that algorithm is not secure. The
certificate is only valid for susepaste.org Error code:
    SEC_ERROR_CERT_SIGNATURE_ALGORITHM_DISABLED

hmmmm . . . . yes, susepaste seems broken (again).
Now the image I posted to suspeaste has gone altogether. Following the suspepaste link gives the message
The URI you submitted has disallowed characters.
anyway . . . . Here are the images from my dropbox account
this one showing too much space to the left of the clock . . .

and another showing a too small clock size

ok . . . something seems a bit broken with the clock / tray.
Increasing tray width by just one pixel the clock suddenly jumps in size to become gigantic
