Default Firefox and Chrome freez Tumbleweed

    Hi,

It happens many times to me after moving from windows to Tumbleweed that when i open 20~30 tabs on either firefox or chrome, suddenly my HDD reaches 100% usage and works insanely and makes my Tumbleweed slow like hell, for example when you more the cursor or click a button, it takes three to five minutes for your to see the action.
I have no options but to HARD RESET my PC,
I think some bad JavaScripts are the source of this issue, but the problem is that i cannot stop it any way.

How should I overcome this issue?

    Thanks

That's definitely not your HDD, rather your CPU or RAM. And maybe not even Chrome / Firefox itself, but some extension. I use the friends-plus-me extension on Chrome. Having a first tab open with just the extension interface open makes my i5 CPU go berserk. Killing Chrome from a virtual console instantly brings the desktop back to life.

Bad javascript might indeed be an issue.

What you can try instead of hard resetting your PC is
    Ctrl+Alt+F2
    login with username and password
    do
    Code:
    killall chrome
    or
    Code:
    killall firefox

That's a good solution to kill it from a virtual console, i didn't know about that
