Firefox & Thunderbird failures - g_dgettext

Hi

I applied some system patches yesterday, after which neither Firefox
nor Thunderbird worked. If I try to execute from the command line, I get
an error

Code:

symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_dgettext

Now…I say that I had applied some system updates, but I had also been
changing the configuration (through YaST) of KDE. I may have
inadvertently done something BAD.>:(

Internet and e-mail work fine through Konqueror and KMail; however, I’m
familiar with my Mozilla apps. Does anyone know of a fix to this?

See this: ‘[opensuse] Update - Firefox 3.0.1 & Thunderbird 2.0.0.16
crashes with CUPS print’

Try updating either Mozilla apps by adding Mozilla repo or GTK by
adding one of the Gnome repos.
