Kompozer/Nvu issue

Recently started using openSUSE 11.1, have a problem with Kompozer/Nvu
for website design. While working on an existing page, the program
disappears - no error messages, no warning, just gone. I have removed
the program and reinstalled, and it still happens. I have also edited my
user profile to make sure I have the correct permissions, with no
change. Any suggestions?

I can second there being something seriously haywire with kompozer
0.7.10 crashing unexpectedly. It is, sadly, simply too undependable to
used for anything at all.

I’ve been able to reproduce the same kind of crashing activity ( an
easy test is to try FILE -> Recent Pages and wait for the crash ).
Right-Click Menus seem to provoke crashes, as well as Save As, Color
Setting Fonts.

It happens in 11.0, in 11.1 with kde 3.59 and kde 4.1.2 as well as in
XFCE. I thought it was related to username and permissions, but have
tried everything from new users and newly installed komposer to
completely new installations on new machines.

And it’s alway broken. Frankly, I’m looking at Quanta, Amaya,
Bluefish, Arachnophilia, Komodo - anything that has WYSIWYG, code views,
Before I give up totally, though, I am going to reinstall an old 0.7.7
and try that on a new machine, Then if that fails, go back to the old
NVU.

I don’t know if this is related to something that changed in OpenSUSE
11.n —> anyone with experience using it currently is welcome to chime
in with some config details.
