Default Thunderbird, sending mail with sendmail localy....

Hello, I am wondering if I can configure thunderbird to send and recieve
mail from localhost, I tried setting it up but I get "Cannot Connect to
server", I have my firewall setup properly, and I setup sendmail.

Sendmail alone is not sufficient. You need a service for thunderbird to
connect to and fetch mail from. Sendmail only does SMTP, for sending out
mail. Dovecot is a good choice for handling POP and IMAP.
