Running Windows programs on Linux computer

I have a Asus Eee PC901 running Linux and want to run my Palm Tungsten E
software and my Canon MP160 printer on it.

Would someone kindly advise me what to download to achieve this and if
there is any cost.

Thanks,

To run windows programs you need ‘wine’ (http://www.winehq.org/) however
it will not help with you printer.
But there are drivers ‘here’ (http://tinyurl.com/963gdh)
Info regarding your Palm Tungsten is ‘here’
(http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=688)
but doesn’t look too promising

Also you can try installing CodeWeavers program "CrossOver X " to
install lots of programs that wine doesn’t want to. It’s propietary but
you can try it for a month for free.

And some say it’s a bit extreme, but I install a virtual windows
workstation inside of openSUSE ‘using VMware Server’
(http://www.swerdna.net.au/linhowtovmwareserversuse.html), which is
free. Any Linux-incompatible apps get run in that.
