I am trying to install kxdocker from an rpm and I keep getting a failed
dependency on libpng.so.3. I checked the /usr/lib/ directory and I so no
libpng besides libpng.so and libpng12. I have installed the libpng
package througj yast to no avail.
You also didn’t mention your OpenSUSE version or architecture. 11.1 has
‘libpng3’ available, and 64-bit 11.1 has both 32-bit and 64-bit packages
available.
Good luck.

I found the solution yesterday but was unable to post until now. I
uninstalled the 64-bit version and downloaded the 32-bit rpm and now it
works fine. I didn’t try this earlier as I am running under 64-bit.
This should work as long as there isn’t a problem with a difference
between the 32-bit and 64-bit libraries. Unfortunately for one product
I"m using this isn’t guaranteed and development requires the 32-bit version.
Good luck.
