Question Grub Boot Menu - Item Text

    Hello,

I have been trying my hardest to figure out how to modify the boot menu Grub2. It shows my Windows 10 installation as "Windows Recovery Environment". How do I change that to say simply, "Windows 10"....?

I thought I could do it in the bootloader area of Yast but I didn't see anywhere that was at in there..

    Thanks,

    K

This comes from os-prober. You would need to open bug report an request update. Alternatively take menu entry generated by os-prober, put in into /boot/grub2/custom.cfg and change title to your hearts content. You may consider disabling "Probe for Foreign OS" after that, so it does not generate duplicated entry with "wrong" name.

If I put the proper name of Windows in the custom file how does the boot menu tie what I type in the custom file out to loading Windows?
