Before anyone is able to offer any real help, more information on the actual problem would be useful

    Desktop environment you're using?

Version of Firefox? (Installed from where?)

    Does Firefox actually start?

If it crashes: does any particular action or web-site cause the crash? does Firefox create a crash report (about:crashes)?

Does it happen if you start Firefox in 'safe mode'? (from the command line use 'firefox -safe-mode' or, if Firefox does start you can use 'Menu -> Help -> Restart with add-ons disabled)

Does it happen with a new user?

Also, what, if any, (firefox) errors are shown before:

"[Child 19976] ###!!! ABORT: Aborting on channel error. ..."
