Language problem for Iranian people, (by intension?!)

Hi guyz,

It's very strange that you cannot find Persian (Farsi) language in the main language setting of OpenSuse:


of course you can add a layout and keyboard for persian/farsi, but you cannot set your OS language to Persian.
Plz check this wikipedia link (though it's old) to have an idea about the rank of Persian/Farsi language in the top 100 human languages by their number of native speakers.

And see the funny thing; they have put Czesh language (language #83 from the top 100) in the setting, but not Persian/Farsi (language #29),

Is it a technical issue? or maybe a political matter?

Cuz I used to have Mageia and Mint with Persian language enabled.
Unfortunately same concept goes for many other applications as well


Btw, is there any way to add it there?

Are you sure it's not there, afaik Farsi uses the Arabic script and in plasma 5 languages have been grouped by script not alphabetically ie languages using Latin are in one bunch, languages using Cyrillic in another, languages using Arabic in another group and let's not forget Unicode CJK languages which are also supported

I don't understand Arabic but I'm pretty sure Farsi is there, only the yast modules have not been translated, you can't blame Czech volunteers for translating their own language if you have the time you can translate yast modules

Yes, in some cases they're grouped by script,
And also you're right Farsi is available in some packages right now, but as i've searched, it seems that it used to be in Yast and other parts of OpenSuse as well.
By the way, I wasn't blaming Czesh volunteers, I was just comparing the number of native speakers.
It's cool to see people all around the world in an open source project.

Now i think i should go to http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-translation/
