journalctl cannot find message

Greetings!

my /dev/sdb apparently has a hardware problem, I see repeating messages like

... Result: hostbyte=DID_BAD_TARGET driverbyte=DRIVER_OK
... sd 1:0:0:0:0: [sdb] CDB:
... Read(10): 20 00 12 9a 82 ...

flushing the console (tty1) and tty10.

The system was (b)locked and I had to reboot using the power button.

After reboot I am searching the above error messages with journalctl however I do not find any of the error messages.
The above message has been hand copied off the console.

My question: where are those messages stored? In previous linux versions I searched in /var/log/messages.

Tanks for reading
Wolf

Check the drive with smartctl
