    Default Cura (3D Print Slicing Software) on openSuSE 42.2

    Hi everyone,

    I am hoping that someone can offer some pointers to help me get this software running on my system.
    I have tried a number of alternative route. Namely,
    1. Downloaded the current stable release package from Ultimaker However, that is only available as a .deb so had to convert with Alien (yep, I know. Not approved .....)
    2. Installing unstable packages from both Heindervdm & StefanBruens
    3. Building from source. Cura GUI & Cura-Engine

    All fail, in differing ways.
    Before, I start throwing verbose logs at you all, has anyone got Cura 2.3.x running on openSuSE 42.2?

    Best regards, Martin

    openSUSE Leap 15.1; KDE Plasma 5.12.8;

    Thank you Ha-Joon,

    But as I noted in my thread starter, I have already tried both those Unsupported Packages.

    One (can't remember which one now) will hang at the splash screen. The log file ends with the message that the OpenGL version is not recognized.
    The other will load but will throw a core dump when opening the Print Manager. Less dramatic but equally disturbing, will not load (hangs) an .stl file.

    Regards, Martin

    Have a go at compiling it yourself, looks like it's opensource.
    But, I don't see any documentation clearly marked as a guide for documentation, you may have to ask a few questions in their forums or mailing list where the instructions are.

    If you say you are building from source and run into <specific errors> then you can post those errors, complete with your steps to replicate the issue.

    Previous versions of Cura where shipped as .deb packages, but the latest Cura 2.4 Beta is available as AppImage, not as .deb package, and works with Leap 42.2 out of the box.
