Default Java Plugin - keeps getting re-installed

decided, after the recent news about possible security risk (and as Firefox automatically disables it anyway), to remove the Java plugin.

So I went into Yast2 and used the software manager to delete the plugins (java-1_7_0-openjdk-plugin which automatically also removes java-1_7_0-openjdk and java-1_7_0-openjdk-headless, plus java-1_8_0-openjdk-plugin - which leaves the java-1_8_0-openjdk, java-1_8_0-openjdk-headless alone). Stopped/started Firefox and checked that the IcedTea plugin was gone - it was. Job done.

Then I had to update the Chromium browser as part of the standard rolling updates that come from the repositories. This insisted on re-installing both (1.7 and 1.8) Java plugins. So I re-removed them. Then had to update Firefox (to version 43.0) and it re-installed the plugins again!

What am I missing? I don't want this plugin. It is (by default set by our good friends at Mozilla) set to disabled. So why am I not allowed to remove it?

    thanks in advance

From YaST > Software > Software Manager, search for them and Taboo them (one of options of the boxx before them.).

    many thanks for that.
