And what repos are you using?
    Code:
    zypper lr -d
The kmail5 version included in Leap should be installable without problems...

libGrantlee-Templates.so.5 is part of the grantlee5 package, try to explicitly install that, maybe you get a more detailed error message then.

I would think that kmail5 should install ok by ignoring the Grantlee dependency? If I installed the Grantlee package and then installed kmail5, no option for installation ignoring dependencies should arise.

Because Grantlee was already installed, I went ahead and installed kmail5. I could not install the kmail5 debug info. Now when I try to run kmail, I get the message: "KDEInit could not launch '/usr/bin/kmail" Any suggestions? Thanks.

    You need grantlee5 for kmail5.
Again, run "sudo zypper in grantlee5" and post the error message.

I could not install the kmail5 debug info.
    Why would you want to?

What happens when you run kmail in a Konsole?

What happens when you run kmail in a Konsole?
    Code:

Same repository but different Prio. Don't know whether that can be a problem or not. Might be worth to correct it and to run "zypper dup" once more.

The problem is that the standard Leap repo is *disabled*. (no idea why I overlooked that at first... )

That's the reason why grantlee5 is not found.
So enable it and try again.

As you ignored the dependencies now, you should reinstall kmail5 too (and kdepim5 which contains libpimcommon.so.5), or run "zypper ve" or similar.

OK guys, it appears that I am there! Everything seems to be in place the way that it should be. I appreciate the help. I do not think I could have gotten to a correctly functioning system without the help of this forum.
