Thread: KRunner memory leak with latest Tumbleweed (20151115) update and baloo search disabled?

  1. #1

    Default KRunner memory leak with latest Tumbleweed (20151115) update and baloo search disabled?

    I recently disables baloo search ( [command]$ balooctl disable ) and today updated Tumbleweed and am noticing high memory usage (>1GB after less then 2 hours of light usage). Is there an issue with having baloo disable with KRunner? Is anyone else experience this problem?

    I am led to believe it's related to baloo due to the output from KSysGuard.

    Some details from top and KSysGuard.

    Would anyone be willing to test whether they are having the same issue by running

    $ balooctl disable

    and then reboot and check whether krunner continually uses more and more memory with moderate usage? I get to between 500MB and 1GB after 2 hours. My sense is this is not isolated to Tumbleweed or even openSUSE and affects other distributions as well.
