Thread: Multitude of software update options are not equal

  1. #1

Question Multitude of software update options are not equal

I tried to use Apper for the first time. It showed 6 updates available.

Yast's Online Update shows no update available. Why? I have allowed vendor change.

Do the software management packages look at different sources and databases?

Which shall I choose to set up automatic update?

YaST OnlineUpdate does show you the patches on the Update repos. And will do the same as
    Code:
    zypper patch
    when you continue.

As far asI know (I have Apper nor PackageKit installed) Apper show you new versions of softwarte on all your active repos. On continuing, it should do the equivalent of
    Code:
    zypper up
