Thread: Running Eclipse Mars (or any other application) with an alternate GTk3 theme?

    Default Running Eclipse Mars (or any other application) with an alternate GTk3 theme?

    Hello,

    My current GTK3 Theme is Adwaita, and I normally use the Dark theme. I'm also using the Gnome desktop environment. However, Eclipse Mars now seems to be using the light/dark settings when I select the GTK theme.

    Is there a way I can launch Eclipse with a specific GTK theme?

    After some googling I found a possible solution and gave it a shot, but no luck. I modified the .desktop file for my Eclipse launcher like so:

    Code:
    [Desktop Entry]
    Comment=
    Terminal=false
    Name=Eclipse
    Exec=env GTK_THEME=Adwaita:light /home/oapeter/bin/development/eclipse/eclipse
    Type=Application
    Icon=/home/oapeter/bin/development/eclipse/icon.xpm
    Is there a different way to achieve this or is there maybe just something I'm doing incorrectly with this file?

    Thanks a lot!

    For those who may be interested: It turned out it was my mistake. It works after logging out and back in again.
