    Default No firefox; no seamonkey

    Running 13.2 on two different computers (both 64bit) I have no working browser.

    Seamonkey (my preferred system) says
    ~> seamonkey

    (process:10857): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed
    /usr/bin/seamonkey: line 140: 10857 Segmentation fault $MOZ_PROGRAM "$@"

    and nothing seems to cange tis --using latest build fron openuSE

    Firefix puts up a window saying it crashed and if i restsart it just repeats.

    So I am left with no browser (for exanmple chrome will not install asit is missing dependecies) and I am remporting this from a Debian machine.

    Any suggestions as how to recover? I suspect a duff library but no idea which

    I am seeing that, too.

    The first line ("Glib-CRITICAL") is not a problem as far as I know.

    So I did:
    Code:
    cd .mozilla
    mv seamonkey seamonkey.old
    and then seamonkey started without a problem. So there's an issue in my profile that I will need to investigate. I don't normally use seamonkey, so not an urgent problem here.

    On the other hand, firefox is working here without any problems.

    Thankds for the response but no help

    birtwistle:~/.mozilla> mv seamonkey/ seamonkey.old
    birtwistle:~/.mozilla> cd
    birtwistle:~> seamonkey

    (process:17429): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed
    /usr/bin/seamonkey: line 140: 17429 Segmentation fault $MOZ_PROGRAM "$@"
    birtwistle:~>

    I realise that /usr/bin/seamonkey is a scriot that ultimately calls /usr/lib64/seamonkey/seamonkey-bin
    but not sure how to find what is crashing

    ....Just called under gdb -- not much help

    the "GLib-CRITICAL" notice is a old and non critical warning

    i am running Seamonkey as i type so...
    but FF has the same non critical warning
    Code:
    GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed

    this is not new
    i think it ALSO was on opensuse 11 ( when 11 was supported)

    Quite. That was not my worry but included for accuracy.

    My complaint was tat seamonkey segv'ed. I have "fixed" this by deleting te .mozila/seamonkey file, but I have no idea why tis happened, which gives a freeling of insecurity. and loss of bookmarks and passwiords

    firefox just started afgain with no action.
