Nvidia repositories needs a password?

I had ftp://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/13.2/ as a repository for updates, but today this one needs a password.

Do I still need this repository? Was it moved elsewhere? Does opensuse provide that nvidia driver?

And yes, I have some nvidia graphics card and since I use CUDA, I cannot switch to some free driver.

Here, the one for 13.1 refreshes just fine. But I’m using
http://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/13.1/, that is, http, not
ftp.

I don’t update the nvidia driver, I stay at an older version. So I don’t
/need/ it.

Does not work from here - “File not found”.

It works as a Repo, but you can not see anything if you open it in a Browser. That you could do only with the ftp-Link…

That’s so. A browser does not work on the http link, but zypper/yast
does. I do not know why, but has been so for years.

On the other hand, the ftp link can be browsed if you login as
anonymous. That’s the only way for us to see the readme files in there,
which are very interesting reading :wink:

I think they are not allowing searching (reading directories). But you can get to an individual file, if that file exists.

Repos use their own meta-data file which lists the files of interest. So using as a repo does not depend on directory search.
