Default Gnome Software center integration vs Apper

    Hi guys.

How's Gnome's SW center integrated with openSUSE 13.2? Is it working properly? Does it only scan for apps, or can you also install libs and other packages via it? I know that apper locates all kinds of stuff on your computer, so I'm just checking out.

    Thanks
Running openSUSE Leap 42.3 + KDE

As far as I know, the heavy lifting is done by "zypper". Apper and the Gnome software applet are just GUI front ends to access zypper via "packagekitd".

So I guess they should both have similar capabilities, except to the extent that the GUI frontend limits what can be done.
