Default Problems with Evolution and Google Calendar

Hi to all! I'm having some problems with Evolution and Google Calendar. It happens often (and now it happens almost every day) that Evolution can't connect to the Google Calendar. I added the Calendar to my google mail account, that works fine, no problem in receiving and sending emails, also google Contacts works fine. But when I try to access the calendar the following message appears:

«Error loading calendar: the calendar is not marked for off-line usage»

even if the computer is on the net and internet works fine. It happens with every google calendar I try to sync with evolution (I also have another google account that I use for university and I'm facing the same problem). Is it a bug? How can I solve?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi
If you right-click on 'Google' and select properties, is the check box marked for offline use?

    Hi to everyone!
I tried to create the calendars using the CalDAV protocol instead of using the "Google Calendar" option... the result is that at first everything works, but after a reboot it is impossible to create events because the calendar becomes "read-only" and in addiction to that it is impossible to sync it with the changes I made on my android smartphone... on the two little arrows near the name of the calendar, that indicate that the calendar is online, appears also a little "x", even if the net is working.
How can I solve? Anyone is facing the same problem?

    Thanks in advance!

Just guessing here, as I don't use the applications you mentioned, but I'd check the calendar files ownership/permissions. Perhaps they are being created by an user different from the user that is trying to access it (like root, for example). This is not an unusual cause for these "won't work after reboot / read only" issues.

Hi! Thank you very much for your answer!
Sorry for the dull question but... Where can I find the calendar files?

    I don't know offhand as, as I mentioned, I don't use Evolution/Google Calendar/CALDAV/etc.

    WILD GUESS MODE ON:

If the files are local (but if it's created by Google I wouldn't think so), I'd start by checking the hidden files in your home folder, possibly under a folder named .program-name, or any config file under it, or in the app settings that may allow for custom data file paths.

If they are on the "cloud", i.e., a Google server, you should check their help, as the problem probably wouldn't be one of permissions, assuming you are logging into the required Google service correctly.

    WILD GUESS MODE OFF.

    Good luck!
