    Default Backgrounds-Need Help Fast!

    Background information: I started my posistion as student and I.T for my school and I have only used Linux for a little under a week about a year ago and didnt much like it, I went to windows after that, Now as a beginner I.T at my school I need to use OpenSUSE KDE as my operating system.

    Need Help:
    So I uploaded OpenSUSE KDE on my computer and went through the whole set up and got everything running, but it looks like ****, the theme is too bright and the colors are weird and hurt my eyes(due to minor color blindness) So i was thinking about getting a new theme, So i went to the start button on the lower left side of the screen and clicked it went to the search bar and searched "Themes" Clicked Desktop theme and then saw that I have a few like Air and Dark, And then a download themes button. I go there and install one, and then back out and it wasnt in the folder that had all the other themes.

    Can anyone help me with this issue? I would like something like the below picture, Does that mean that I will need to downlaod YaST?
    (Here is a link to where I found this picture: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthre...heming-QT-YaST)

    Also does anyone know how to get that bar on the right side where it says kernel version and CPU1 and CPU details?

    Yast is part of openSUSE. It is already installed and is the main control center for openSUSE system. Look in the menu.

    Any how the thread you pointed to is an example of customization nothing more.

    You can pretty much set any color scheme you can imagine in KDE.

    The bar is a widget. Right click the desktop in the menu select unlock widgets right click again and you can add widgets of all sorts

    Note this is also how you change the back ground and desktop type. in the right click menu Folder settings.

    Most KDE setting however are in Configure desktop. These are all personal setting where as Yast is more concerned about system level setting. Remember that Linux is multi user so each person can have their own perfered settings but the system is controlled and set by the super user root.

    Hi
    That is called conky (part of the distribution install via YaST or
    command line tool zypper) and requires some configuration for your
    needs.
    Have a look here;

    Ok thanks, So I figured out mostly what I wanted, but I still cant figure out how to change the dock color, I went through the settings and couldnt quite figure it out,

    Also I went here: http://desktopspotting.com/26/best-c...linux-desktop/
    And I was looking at the didi79 conky config its a brown theme, but i was wondering i i can change it to blue.

    If I can get that sidebar then can I change the color? My color scheme is blue, grey and black.

    Hi
    Not sure what the settings are, but this will give you a pointer to
    what sets what color;
    http://conky.sourceforge.net/config_settings.html

    Now, if the background is set with a lua script, then check that as
    well.

    To get the best match I use the color picker from GIMP to get the color
    hex code, so you can hover over your desktop etc an then click to find
    the color code to use.
